Area priest accepts missionary position.

Faber boasts "I'm really excited to get on top of the situation."

Heath, OH — St. Leonard's Father Eugene Faber has been chosen to spearhead a missionary group to the South American country of Suriname.

Faber is a member of the order of Jesuits. Jesuit priests and brothers are engaged in evangelization and apostolic ministry in 112 nations on six continents. They are best known in the fields of education, intellectual research, and cultural pursuits. They are also known in missionary work and promoting ecumenical dialogue.

Faber's mission is to prosthelytize and earn converts to the Apostolic faith. He says the objective is nothing new, but his approach just might be.

“I’ll start out nice and slow, letting them (converts) get used to the ins-and-outs of the faith. Then, I’ll ratchet it up, and really hammer home the message. Hard. Over and over and over again until I'm spent ... theologically speaking, of course."

Of course.
